A brief description
The Program

The surface of HDvO is divided into two main sections. One section shows a hierarchical tree structured like a word processor. Unlike the word processor, however, where there is a text behind each element, in HDvO there is an object behind each entry. These objects are provided with specific properties and may be considered and managed as self-contained units.

THE properties of the objects appearing in the hierarchy are displayed in the other section - the work area. Here the contents of the selected object is shown. The size of both sections may be increased and decreased dynamically.

THE purpose of this display is to show a structure on one side and the contents of the structural elements on the other side. The dynamic adjustment of the windows is to help to make the space available required for the respective jobs.

TO make changes within the hierarchies the individual objects may be repositioned in a flexible way. To do this, HDvO supports you with two functions:

Preview
IF objects are moved by mouse (drag'n'drop), a preview will be shown within the hierarchy. It shows where the currently moved object will be placed if it is dropped. This preview is to facilitate your work and is to show you before dropping the object where it could be placed.

Check of constistence
IN addition to the preview HDvO also performs a consistency check. Several objects are defined as ends, i.e. below these objects it is impossible to drop any more objects. One of these objects is the object Output. If you try to append to these objects another one, HDvO will display a crossed-out box in the preview.
